شاعری اکثر ایک بند دروازے کی طرح محسوس ہوتی ہے۔ دل دستک دینا چاہتا ہے، مگر مشکل لفظوں کی دیوار راستہ روک لیتی ہے۔ شعورِ منزل اسی دیوار کو گرانے کی ایک کوشش ہے۔
اس کتاب کو جان بوجھ کر سادہ زبان اور رواں آہنگ میں لکھا گیا ہے، تاکہ اردو جاننے والا ہر قاری اسے پڑھتے ہوئے اپنا عکس دیکھ سکے، ہر شعر میں اپنی کوئی بات پا سکے، اور پھر خود بخود گہری شاعری کی طرف قدم بڑھانے لگے۔
گہری بات کو سادہ لفظوں میں کہنا شاید سب سے مشکل ہنر ہے۔ یہ کتاب اسی ہنر کی ایک عاجزانہ کوشش ہے، ان دلوں کے لیے جو شاعری کو سمجھنا تو چاہتے تھے مگر کبھی سمجھ نہ پائے۔ اسے پڑھ کر وہ نہ صرف سمجھیں گے، بلکہ اپنے اندر ایک انوکھی سی لذت اور سکون بھی اترتا محسوس کریں گے۔

Poetry often feels like a closed door. The heart wants to knock, but a wall of difficult words stands in the way. Shaur-e-Manzil is an attempt to take that wall down.
It is written, on purpose, in simple language and a flowing rhythm, so that every reader who knows Urdu can see their own reflection in it, recognise something of their own life in each verse, and quietly begin to walk toward deeper poetry.
